Ethiopia Report Launch Event

Wednesday 22 November 2023

We’re excited to be launching our new report reviewing FGM/C in Ethiopia during an online webinar on the 28th November. This event forms part of our campaign for the 16 days of activism, through which we are challenging the practice of FGM/C being carried out on women and girls.

You can sign up to our webinar here.

The Ethiopia Country Profile Update provides comprehensive information on the most recent trends and data on female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) in Ethiopia. It includes an analysis of the current political situation, legal frameworks and programmes to make recommendations on how to move toward eradicating the practice.

The theme of the event is- addressing social desirability and social identity in FGM/C programming in Ethiopia. The session will be a moderated panel discussion followed by a Q&A session. The panel will consist of:

Lulit Mengesha, TaYA
