Female genital cutting affects at least 4.1 million girls every year. Not only does the practice have often devastating physical and psychological impacts on girls and women, but it can also cut short her life chances, her education, and her inclusion in the economy.

2020 marks the start of a 10 year countdown to reach the global Sustainable Development Goal of ending FGC by 2030. We must accelerate progress on ending the cut thirteen-fold if we’re to reach our 10 year target and protect girls. 

As our flagship campaign for 2020, Orchid Project has launched the #DontCutHerShort campaign, to mobilise public support for a growing global movement.
